Start with a real hand: Prima 1

Prima 1 is the worked example across our lessons. Choose a task, check its interfaces and download your first experiment brief. Referenced research keeps its original hardware and scope.

Learning & Control

Explore how a dexterous hand perceives, predicts and acts. Choose a research direction.

New to robot learning? Learn the hand, understand its controller, then define a test before choosing a model.

Grasp & motion planning

Find a grasp. Plan how to reach it.

Grasp synthesis proposes finger contacts and hand configurations. Motion planning finds an approach that respects the hand, arm and scene constraints. A useful candidate still needs execution and contact validation.

Start with: Forward/inverse kinematics, object geometry and collision checking.

  1. InputObject geometry + hand model + scene
  2. MethodGrasp synthesis and trajectory planning
  3. OutputCandidate grasp and approach path

A force-closure or collision-free candidate does not establish robust physical task success.

How to evaluate it

Feasible-grasp rate, collision failures, planning time and physical execution success as separate measurements.

A first experiment to try

Inspect one supported hand and object. Visualize the pre-grasp, grasp and approach; separate geometry failures, planner failures and execution failures.
