Start with a real hand: Prima 1

Prima 1 is the worked example across our lessons. Choose a task, check its interfaces and download your first experiment brief. Referenced research keeps its original hardware and scope.

Learning & Control

Explore how a dexterous hand perceives, predicts and acts. Choose a research direction.

New to robot learning? Learn the hand, understand its controller, then define a test before choosing a model.

VLA models

Turn an instruction into an action.

Vision-language-action systems connect what a robot sees and what a person asks with task-conditioned actions. A dexterous hand still needs a defined action space and an execution controller.

  2. MethodVision-language-action system
  3. OutputAction or action sequence

A VLA is an approach to generating actions. It is not evidence that one checkpoint controls every hand.

How to evaluate it

Held-out task success, interventions and action latency against the same controller baseline.

A first experiment to try

Trace one released sample from camera observations and instruction to the arm and finger action fields. Identify the controller or hardware code that is missing.
